‘Twas the Night Before AVPSY…
‘Twas the night before AVPSY when all through the house
The fangirl was blogging, squeaking like a mouse.
Her Internet feeds kept refreshing with care
In hopes that the Starkid musical soon would be there.
A few hours later she was snuggled in her bed
With visions of Potter and musicals dancing in her head
Joey in his headband and Darren with his scar
Made the next day not seem so far
When from Tumblr there arose so many screams
You could bet they woke up the whole Team
Away to my laptop I flew like a phoenix
Heart pounding in beat with my keyboard clicks
The light of my screen kept my eyes entranced
And I felt as though I could be like Lucius Malfoy and prance
And what before my eyes a sight to make me gasp
But a whole musical, complete on YouTube at last
With a little announcement by a man so little and quick
I knew in a moment it was none other but Mister Nick.
So excited was he and the audience also
That he announced the cast of the show,
“Now Joey! Now Joe! Now Lauren and Brian!
On A.J.! On Tyler! On Darren and Dylan!
To the down of the stage to the back of the curtain!
Now act away, act away, act away again!”
As the show began the tears began to flow
When the first note came my heart started to grow
So I will make it through this trilogy-end
Because it’s back to the place where our story begins
And then in an instant everything was right
Everyone all together on the same night
The actors, the fans, all filled with elate
Seven months isn’t THAT long to wait…
Then out on the stage Darren came at last
And it seems as if no time has passed
Although his hair isn’t curly and long
He’s still our Harry, nothing seems wrong
His eyes, they sparkled, his smile glowed
In his hands, a wand to hold
We knew he would, of course he’d go
Away for a day to be in this special show
And it’s back to the start
With Walker as Vol-de-mart
Joey with his crooked jaw
Dylan as Dumbledore, everything’s perfect as we saw
Evanna as Luna, Moses as Snape
Meredith’s Hermione, my mouth’s agape
For this show is so special and these people so dear
The time I’ve been waiting for this show to appear
And when it actually does premiere
All remember and this you must hear
Everything ends: you can’t hold onto what’s passed
Nothing is made to last.
